Getting Around

It's an easy trip to Beacon from New York City. There is regular train service to and from Grand Central Terminal on the Metro-North Hudson Line (Poughkeepsie). Taxis meet most trains but mass transit in Beacon is limited. Most of us just walk into town.

Public Transportation

MTA: Metro-North Railroad: Hudson Line
The Beacon station is wheelchair accessible (elevator to platform) and taxicab service is avaible. Peak trains (weekday rush hours) are met by commuter buses and the Newburgh ferry. See schedules and fares and connecting service information. Call (800) METRO-INFO for customer service.

Leprechaun: Stewart Airport Shuttle Bus
There is limited shuttle bus service from the Beacon train station to Stewart Airport via Leprechaun bus lines. See schedules and fares.

Dutchess County LOOP Bus System
Limited bus service is provided by the Dutchess County Department of Mass Transit. Buses meet weekday rush hour trains and provide service along the Route 9 corridor. See schedules and fares.
