2.  Report on the Hudson Valley Main Street Summit — The third workshop in CPC's ongoing Hudson Valley Main Street series was held April 17, 2009 at The Howland Cultural Center on Main Street in Beacon, NY. Sponsored by CPC and the City of Beacon, this summit focused on marketing and economic development strategies to help retail stay afloat in Beacon and the surrounding villages. 3.  Report on the Magnetizing Downtowns and Historic Villages conference — The Hudson Valley Smart Growth Alliance conference held on April 4, 2009 focused on helping Mid-Hudson downtowns and historic villages find fresh ideas for attracting people and jobs to existing centers.
