Fire Advisory Board

The Fire Advisory Board is charged with advising and making relevant policy and planning recommendations to the mayor, city council, city administrator, and fire department chiefs and officers on fire department-related issues. The board also oversees the implementation and review of the fire department's 21st Century Report.

The board consists of five members appointed by the mayor to serve three-year terms. At least three of the members shall have substantial firematic background.

The Fire Advisory Board mets twice a year, in March and September.

Some Committees have definite terms of service, some serve "at pleasure of" the administration.  If you are interested in serving on a committee, please complete the Committee Application Form and submit it to: Office of the Mayor, 1 Municipal Plaza, Beacon, New York 12508-2530. Your application will be kept on file for future reference if there is no current opening. Thank you.
