The Beacon City Court is a trial court in the Unified Court System, 9th Judicial Ditrict.

The mission of the Unified Court System is to promote the rule of law and to serve the public in a professional and courteous manner by providing the just and timely resolution of all matters before the courts in the following ways:

• Provide a forum for the equitable and prompt resolution of legal proceedings such as: civil claims, family disputes, criminal charges, charges of juvenile delinquency, disputes between citizens and their government
• Supervise the administration of estates of decedents, consider adoption petitions and preside over matters involving the dissolution of marriages; provide legal prosecution for children, mentally ill person, and others entitled by law to the special protection of the law
• Regulate lawyers' admissions to the bar
