Lt. Paul Facteau was killed in action in England on March 23, according to a War Department telegram received by his wife,
Mrs. Joan Facteau, 10 South Walnut Street Beacon. He is the
son of Captain and Mrs. Henry Facteau of Castle Point.

Lt. Facteau was a navigator on a B-17 Flying Fortress and was a member of the crew with Staff Sergeant Deweiller, also of Beacon,
whose parents received a telegram Tuesday that he was killed in action on March 23.  It is probable that both Beacon men were killed on the same flight.

Lt. Facteau is the 50th Beacon man to die while in service.  He entered service on January 28, 1943, and received his commission and navigator's wings on July 1, 1944, when he graduated from advanced navigation school at Monroe, La.  Paul's parents traveled to attend the ceremonies. A graduate of Beacon High School, he attended Holy Ghost Academy at Tupper Lake Junior High School. He has been overseas since last October and it is believed that he had completed about 24 missions.

In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by one sister, Henrietta Facteau of the WAC stationed at Wilmington, Delaware.
