George J. Eichhorn was killed in action on June 18, 1944, 
in France in the first wave of invaders.  Pfc Eichhorn was 
the 28th Beacon man to loose his life.

Shortly after his death, his brother Lieutenant Andrew Eichhorn
was killed at Biak Island in the South Pacific from scrub typhus.
