Albert A. Knight is lowered into the grave (below) by American Legion bearers at St. Luke's Cemetary in Beacon NY, while a Military guard from West Point stands at attention in full military honor.  Presiding over the funeral was Rev. A. O. Tritsch (in black robes).  

Sgt. Albert Knight died on January 2, 1944, in Letterman General Hospital, California.  The uniformed officer standing next to the Reverend was Chaplain L. Lane McCammon of Letterman who accompanied the body of Albert Knight back to Beacon.  He was a veteran of the South Pacific campaign.

Albert was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Knight of Wodell Street, Beacon N.Y.
