The Evening Journal, Saturday June 14, 1919.... "Another Beacon boy who was a member of the gallant 107th Division, and who gave his life for his country, was George Delahay. He passed through many fierce engagements, but was finally wounded and sent to a hospital in France where he remained some time. He was then removed to England, so that he might recuperate faster, and on the way there he contracted a cold which developed into pneumonia, from which he died. He is buried in England. To George Delahay as to the other heroic young men of Beacon, the city will always pay its tribute of affectionate gratitude. |
