Anthony Nicholas Scalzo, called "Cooter" by his family, was born
in Beacon NY on April 17, 1931

He attended Beacon Schools and was active in sports,
particularly baseball and the PAL league.

He was drafted in March of 1952 and inducted in the US Army
on March 13th in Poughkeepsie NY.

After basic training he was sent to North Korea where
nine months later on December 30, 1952 he died of wounds
sustained in the vicinity known as the Punchbowl Area. Anthony
was buried with full military honors in Beacon.

Anthony made many good friends in his short life who to this day
remember him kindly.

We, his family still miss him and honor the memory of the supreme
sacrifice he and others made.
