Seeger gets award for contributions to clean water
Pete Seeger, Beacon resident and the famed folk musician who
built the Sloop Clearwater, was named a ''Clean Water Hero'' Friday
by the Clean Water Network.
An alliance of more than 1,100 organizations dedicated to
preventing pollution, protecting ecosystems and closing loopholes in
environmental laws, the network is based in Washington.
Seeger, 83, was one of 30 people honored on the 30th anniversary
of the passage of the Clean Water Act. |
