Beacon schools chief honored in Washington
BEACON -- Beacon school district Superintendent Vito DiCesare was
among 62 school superintendents nationwide who were honored for
their leadership recently at a ceremony in Washington.
DiCesare and seven other superintendents in New York state were
recognized by the Congressional Black Caucus Education Braintrust
and the Education Technology Think Tank at the sixth annual Decision
Makers Luncheon.
The annual event recognized the pioneers of public/private
technology partnerships and school district leadership teams.
DiCesare said the district's work to continually improve the
education and services for both minority and undeserved children led
to the recognition.
''The Beacon City School District is moving vigorously in the
right direction,'' said DiCesare, who acknowledged many others in
the district. ''I recognize (the award) represents the efforts of
many people.'' |
